About

When the FA-3 Spartan-A was produced and put in service in 2017, the SimpleLandian Air Force (SLAF) used it very effectively and powerfully. But after a while, it's flaws started to appear. It's speed is okay, but it's weight prevented it from carrying any extra payload. And it was not as armored as they had hoped. And in the recent Battle of Pyongyang, the SLAF had heavy Spartan-A losses. So Lykins Aviation further developed the Spartan-A and produced the FA-3 Spartan-B. Even though the body is the exact same, the Spartan-B is now more prepared for air-to-ground combat. The fuselage is more armored, and the overall plane is lighter than the -A model. Reduced fuel makes up for this. Also the tail is redesigned to provide more lift. The Spartan-B also does not have the AGM-65 Maverick missiles. They were too cumbersome to be used effectively on the Spartan. And the four 250 lbs bombs have been discarded too. Now the air-to-ground armament is more effective. It now carries twelve AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, two AGM-24 Cleaver missiles, 56 rockets mounted in Hydra 70 rocket pods, four Mark 82 500 lbs bombs, and two AIM-120 AMRAAM'S for self defense against other aircraft. The GAU-8/A Avenger Cannon is also kept, although moved to the nose of the aircraft, like the USAF FA-18 Hornet. And now the Spartan can now mid-air refuel. It also has a WAY more powerful radar that can detect enemy targets before they know what hit them. And it also features an arrester arm for carrier landings. It's only disadvantage is that it still does not possess the ability to dogfight enemy planes. The users of this aircraft include the Simplelandian Air Force, Navy, and Marines.
