DHC F/A-168M Dunkelhund II

Document I: Description

Document I.A: Synopsis

The F/A-990 is a large and heavy, tandem-seater multirole fighter aircraft developed by DHC for the German Luftwaffe. It is the corporation's sixth aircraft, and it served alongside the F/A-990 Corvo as one of the DHC's primary fighters. The aircraft was designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of DHC founder [REDACTED]'s death. The corporation's first aircraft was the last aircraft that founder [REDACTED] designed shortly before his death from a lung disease, and the Darkhound II was made to maintain the Darkhound I's overall design while incorporating the many state-of-the-art technologies of more recent aircraft like the F/A-990 Corvo.

Document I.B: Design

Engines

The Wilhelm VII.ADG engines from the Corvo proved really powerful yet reliable, and were used again in the Darkhound II. With the F/A-168M's lighter frame compared to its predecessor, the engines also pushed the aircraft faster by 200mph. The stealth factor from the silence of the engine in its cruising throttle however still remains.

Airframe

The F/A-168M incorporated its many improvements in airframe development while trying to maintain the original design of the corporation's first aircraft. The overall frame was enlarged to fit the numerous weapons and avionics systems including a new DHC-made AESA, the large weapons of the E6 Package, and the pair of heavy VII.ADG engines from the Corvo. A refueling probe was also added to the starboard of the aircraft's cockpit, which would be used when the aircraft would fly missions that were a large distance from where it would take off.

Radar Systems

The DHC also invested in creating its own set of radar avionics for its aircraft, to avoid the hassle of having to search the international aircraft parts market for quality radar systems. This led to the creation of the DHC Umgeben.V44 AESA Radar Systems. While performing just as fine as most radar systems in the market this avionics system didn't need to be transported across the globe, saving time, money, and substantially alleviating the threat of being destroyed in the middle of the ocean by enemy attackers.

Document I.C: Armament

The E6 weapon proved to be an excellent set of weapons, however the AAMs turned out to be quite redundant for the A-128's operations. The rocket pods and howitzer cannon are omitted from the F/A-168M due to their unnecessary weight, the former not plausible to be armed on a supersonic fighter while the latter having high recoil that may disrupt the aircraft's flight and possibly stall it.

Document I.D: Production

Its higher top speed compared to the previous F/A-990 Corvo made it even more feared than its predecessor. It earned nicknames like "Darkheart," "Bloodborn," and "Schreiender Tod." The aircraft is produced in large numbers than its predecessors, with a total of 2137 units and with 519 in current active service in the Luftwaffe.

For all of the support, thank you for silver!

I'm sorry this silver build came unannounced and super late, but at least I still had a silver build to post, right? Well, for all the people who spotlighted, upvoted, or at least commented on my previous posts, thank you very much for the support and have a good day/night!
