P/F-80 C Shooting star

50.6k ChaMikey  8.0 years ago

As suggested by @SilverDilver24 and an urge i had for a long time to make this plane, i give you the P/F80 (F being the designation from the U.S.A.F) Shooting star!!

====== INSTRUCTIONS ======

-Drop fuel tanks (Act. button 1) before doing aggressive or sudden maneuvers as it would cause the fuel tanks to blow up.

-Drop and Raise landing gear by using Act. button 2 and sliding the Vtol button

thanks to @Thealban for his signature USAF insignia,
@AgDynamics for his U.S.A.F alphabet,
@Komuhachi for his orange traced jet engine
and @RhysBrown for the red tracers (yes i asked him to make it for me before deusalgor created a ton of other tracer guns)

I'd also like to thank you guys for supporting me and helping me reach 10k! i hope you enjoy this rather simple build :)

History from professor wikkeh :

he Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star was the first jet fighter used operationally by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF).[2] Designed and built by Lockheed in 1943 and delivered just 143 days from the start of the design process, production models were flying but not ready for service by the end of World War II.

Designed with straight wings, the type saw extensive combat in Korea with the United States Air Force (USAF) as the F-80. America's first successful turbojet-powered combat aircraft, it helped usher in the "jet age" in the USAF, but was outclassed with the appearance of the swept-wing transonic MiG-15 and was quickly replaced in the air superiority role by the transonic F-86 Sabre.

The F-94 Starfire, an all-weather interceptor on the same airframe, also saw Korean war service. The closely related T-33 Shooting Star trainer would remain in service with the U.S. Air Force and Navy well into the 1980s, with the last NT-33 variant not retired until April 1997. Many still serve in a military role in foreign air arms or are in private hands.

    You have many great builds. I haven't had a chance to go through your stuff until now. I try to make time to go through the planes of the people I follow but it takes time. @ChaMikey
