The Soviets, running out of ideas to crush rebellions and such, resorted to making a new jet production line. They created the Sukhoi jets. Initially designated as strike craft, they evolved into air-superiority fighters. The initial prototype, designated Su-00, was not very successful during its production and testing phase (1948-1949). It had many flight issues, including burning engines and wings tearing apart above 300mph. The Su-01 (1951-1953), however, rectified many issues, with reinforced wings and air intakes directly on the two engines along with the front primary intake. It is armed with 2 30mm cannons and 4 7.62mm machine guns. It has 4 Guardian AAMs and 4 250lb bombs for ground strike capabilities. So, based on its high maneuverability, it is combat ready and will be proposed to the tournament being held for this challenge.
