An interview log from Andrey Cherlinski

Journalist: So through out your entire career, was there any mission that brought you fear?

Andrey Cherlinski: I am not sure if I am allowed to tell this story. But considering it happened a long time ago, I think it should be fine. Did you know the incident where my plane got severely damaged and I had to eject?

Journalist: Yeah, that was the only plane loss that was on your record. The officials reported that you were doing some crazy maneuvers that is beyond the structural limit of your plane during a patrol mission. The plane rapidly disintegrated due to the nature of the maneuver. The officials wrote it off as your error but let you off easily without severe punishments. The entire story was full of inconsistencies and problems. But the public accepted the story due to the fact that you were the war hero.

Andrey Cherlinski: Well, the officials only told half of the story. I really did some crazy maneuvers, and my plane disintegrated during the mission.

Journalist: What was the other half then?

Andrey Cherlinski: During the mission I had found a bogey. Its radar signature was unlike anything I have seen. I tried to contact its IFF but it only says "Redacted". Then, before long, I had received missile warning. After dodging the missile, the AWACS decided it was the best to engage the bogey as it had crossed the border. Although shrouded in confusion, I told my Wingmen to hold off. I thought, "I had survived so many dogfights throughout the war and this one should not be different". Oh boy how wrong I was.

Journalist: What happened exactly?

Andrey Cherlinski: That weird plane was in pale blue, which made it incredibly hard to see in the sky. I cannot tell if it is an UAV or not but it did not seem to have a cockpit. There was also no emblems so I cannot tell whose plane it was. After some exchanges of missiles, it quickly snapped to my tail and I had finally got a chance to look at it carefully.

Journalist: What did it look like?

Andrey Cherlinski: It's a biplane. But not a biplane you usually came across. It was more of a flying wing than a normal plane. I tried to shake it off with some crazy maneuvers. But its mobility kept itself on my tail. That was the moment I knew I will die. After I heard a stream of brrrrrrrt noise from aeriel cannons and my engine was on fire. Fortunately, I ejected safely and the bogey left after it killed me.

Journalist: So you are saying that someone was developing a UAV that can surpass even the best pilot of the North?

Andrey Cherlinski: Like I said, I am not sure if it was a normal plane or a UAV. But I am sure a normal person would not be able to handle the G-load during the stream of maneuvers pulled off by that plane. Thus, yeah, it was a UAV. And it was strong.
