House of Cards Airship

The standard cargo airship for the House of Cards gang, designed by the gang and manufactured by private factories contracted by the gang. Its shape resembles Great War-era airships with a cabin below the balloon rather than a deck and everything typical of a normal ship above the balloon. Despite this it functions in a completely different way. Rather that hydrogen tanks, it has extremely powerful engines. Later on, these engines would be replaced by nuclear generators, significantly reducing fuel costs. Heavily armored, it is nearly impossible for fighter aircraft to shoot them down-except for the fact that it has a weakness. Because the gang wanted to keep the airships with a HP/mass ratio of 0.3 and the engines were the most powerful ones available within their budget for mass production at the time, the engines do not have any protection. They also have no protection because the rotators aren’t too rigid and the addition of armor would reduce the low stability caused by their weight. Fighter aircraft use this to their advantage when attacking the airships, aiming for the engines. Luckily for the airships, however, they require at least two engines to function, meaning at most four can be destroyed. This comes at the cost of heavily reduced stability, however. Typically if an airship is shot down its crew and cargo has to be rescued by another. Another notable feature of the airship is its legs, which were made because it doesn’t get tied to a dock and suspended in the air like normal ones, rather it lands on a platform in a supercarrier. Said supercarrier is used as a regional base of the gang. How they obtained such expensive hardware is beyond anyone except the gang’s higher-ups.
