A rather strange and mediocre jet bomber from the late World War II era.
Hello! I decided to take part in a challenge to create a WWII-era bomber. Well... it’s not really my thing, as you can probably tell. But I tried to make something at least somewhat decent.
I think the goal is pretty clear from the name – to build a high-speed bomber. It doesn’t carry much in terms of bomb load, just a single 500 kg bomb. Though I believe it could carry a bit more with external hardpoints.
The jet engines have thrust comparable to the most powerful contemporaries of the time – around 2000 kgf each (the Blasto J50 with its 50 kN of thrust scaled down to 0.4). For example, the Jumo-004H, according to Russian Wikipedia, produced 1805 kgf. But even with that, its flight performance is rather mediocre in my opinion – especially the range. The jet engines just guzzle fuel like crazy.
