@JamesBoA it's just because The USSR heavily supported Egypt after WWII until the end of the 6th of October war-In fact sometimes during the 6th of October 1973 Russia gave Egypt some Anti-air equipment for free!- .
@Rsouissi but It can be pretty annoying ,the training happen around 1 or 2 kilometers away from the town, so I can watch and enjoy them ,but the patrols,they pass right above the Town,-have you ever heard a Formation of two supersonic fighter jet going full speed?, it's more louder than thunder ,once they pass above you , 2 seconds later and you hear a very loud and low pitch roar in the sky lasting more that 20 seconds, sometimes they pass at night.
One time, I saw a formation of three CH-47 Chinooks fly over my neighborhood. My house actually started shaking, and it was pretty funny to watch the dog's reaction to it. (Basically acting like the world is about to end and running under the bed, lol)
Fun fact : I live in a town in between two military airfields,I always see -mostly- F16,TC-130(a version of C-130 gunship for training air crew) and Migs and other Russian jets(sorry can't know which ones ,I can't identify them from below ) Flying high every 4 to 8 hours, the best moments is when is there a training,there will be always a helicopter -sadly a civilian one- and a lot of trainers flying very slow and low to the ground!

For me, seeing helis is pretty old. When I was small, helis flew at 20ft above the ground past my home.

@Rsouissi I live 30 minutes form a army and air force base and I always see convoys through my neighborhood and Heli's and Planes above
