(SLRP) The FRES begins an interesting move in militarization

2,429 xGeneralFischx  4.9 years ago

The FRES has been in a peaceful state for a while now, and begun an interesting project. The upgrading and modernization of many historical vehicles. This has been done in the past, but not to such a large degree
Vehicles include:
Panzer VI Tiger (I, II, Sturm, and Jagd variants)
B-17 Flying Fortress
Ho-229 Flying Wing
Panzer IV(Normal, StuG, and AA variants)
Panzer III(StuG variants)
T-28/95 SPG
All remaining Iowa-class battleships
M26 Pershing
Unconfirmed reports of Panzer VIII Maus

@Trollium i have to agree with @MrVaultech on this one, it's just doesn't feel right having to fight vehicles with such historical value. But if i were to fight it, i would rather just send a special unit to capture the vehicles and put it in a museum.

I honestly don't get why people always do this in any RP; they go and claim to have a massive number of fully function, combat-capable WW2 era tanks or aircraft, and instead of helping the historical community of the RP by putting such equipment into a museum or in hands of collectors, decide to completly destroy any historical or function value of the tank or plane, as what it was, and modernize it.
Just completly glossing over how horribly inept at modern combat these tanks were, how impractical they were in their own war, their abilities to move independently without breaking down, and adding in the additional and very likely expensive equipment being put on for propaganda purposes...
Lets just not forget all these tanks and aircraft are grossly outdated in speed, offensive and (usual lack of) defensive weapons, and their complete design as a whole (some WW2 planes made of wood and canvas, and tanks either being just RHS or cast steel).

We’ll send it back once we reverse engineered it. We will also make repairs to the turret(As the inside from the explosion that was made to destroy it) @GeneralOliverVonBismarck

It’s not desperation we have much better tanks. They are probably mostly gonna be sued for propaganda @PositivePlanes @SuperSix
