Idea

What if we place small wind turbines at the end of a runway. Every time a plane takes off they would be able to generate some energy from the prop/jet wash. Of course the turbines would be low to the ground so planes don't fly into them when landing. For a short amount of time they could provide some serious power (think St. Maarten).

@BlackhattAircraft You're getting it wrong, the idea is to generate otherwise wasted wind energy when planes are taking off. No additional stresses are put on the engines of the aircraft!

It might be expensive though, Av-gas isn't cheap and the engines would probably have to go into maintenance every day.

jets doing a run up like the 747 can power one, it can rip the runway up in 8 seconds on full power. power is not to much when landing so maybe just put them on the blast pad for run ups and take off rolls. but spinning things and jets dont mix, but im sure theres a way.
