I am glad to inform all of you that, yes, while I have certainly been messing around a bit, I have been actually quite productive, IRL and in SP. I did well on my finals, ending a wonderfully successful academic year!
Anyway, I have yet another build to upload! It will probably be my last for a few weeks, because while I am enjoying building, finishing this project has more than satiated my craving for SP. Break time.
This aircraft is, potentially, my most powerful aircraft for air-to-ground combat. Its gun can fire high-yield explosives (as shown), or it can use an insanely powerful laser to precisely eliminate ground-based threats.
Of course, it also has a few missiles at its disposal, too.
Another point of interest is how I made the (extremely fuel-efficient) propulsion system. It uses an old trick, where inputMultipliers are set very low, and powerMultipliers are set very high. Rotating VTOL nozzles simulate throttle action. Until now, though, this method was clunky. At 50% throttle, for example, the thrust output would be about 71% of max. This is due to how triangles work, and I streamlined the system (so 50% throttle would yield 50% thrust output) with some simple trig, hence my name for the new thrust system, Trigonometric Thrust, or Trig Thrust. Don't worry - I'll explain my methods in the description.
