Dear Friends,

I have been contacted by the Lexington Historical Society to work at Monroe Tavern, unpaid, as a greeter. This tavern served as the headquarters of Colonel Francis Smith and his entourage during the events of April 19, 1775. It also served as refreshments for wounded soldiers and as a field hospital as well. It was owned by Colonel William Monroe, who was one of the commanding Patriot officers at the Battle. He was away fighting when the British took the tavern
Please come and visit!

Thanks,
James Bleriot
