Fine Tune Control Surfaces

1,514 atgxtg  5.7 years ago

Is there a way to fine tune the size and shape of control surfaces? When building planes with small wings, I wind up with aircraft with too much roll, even when I use the smallest size possible. This is even more of a problem with delta wings, where ailerons and elevators have to share the control surface. Often a elevator big enough for proper pitch means an aileron too big for proper roll.

    Overload mod.

Woah Nellie! Overlord opens up whole new dimensions of possibilities. Fixed my wing problem in seconds. Now I can go find all my planes that don't quite fly right and fix them-not to mention adjusting parts such as engines to better match the actual specs for whatever plane I try to model.
    Thanks again everybody!

Thanks. I'll have to install Overload and see about reducing the deflection angle.

If you have overload or an XML editor, you’ll be able to find a control surface deflection value. As for fine tuning size, I’ve never had much success. @atgxtg

@atgxtg the angle they pitch is unrealistic, reduce it by 10degrees and thus problem reduced or resolved. Alternatively use custom surfaces with rotator and v small wings in them (this allows large movement but small effect)

How? I know how to resize the control surfaces but not how to reduce the angle that they pitch.

You can fine tune amount of control surface movement
