Download Imgur (it's free) and create account. Then upload the pics and gifs you want, make them public (only you can see them) and copy the direct link. Use the formula starknight mentioned, delete the s in https and done. You uploaded a pic to the site. You can do this on posts and mods/planes only.

@Boatrider you have to upload the images to some image hosting app/site. Not realy imgur, but I use it so I mentioned it.
