I would like a mod for more detailed airliners as I feel the game was not designed with airliners in mind. Also I think another good feature would be the ability to lock an aircraft on a heading, to keep it from drifting off-course.

On PC, there is an autopilot feature that makes aircraft fly completely level and cars drive straight

no, you gotta add the detail yourself
and for headings, just put a gyro onboard and set it to an activation group
