Need Help With Autogyro

10.7k SajabAerospace  5.8 years ago

I'm currently creating my own autogyro. I want it to be realistic, with the rotor blades being unpowered. Most of the design has been completed. Propulsion comes from a ducted fan, and the fuselage design is taken from a glider. This is what it looks like:

My problem is with the main rotor. It won't turn. It turns a little bit, then stops. Is there anyone here who has built a functioning autogyro and would be able to give some advice?

I managed to make this work on high settings. Download it here.

@BACconcordepilot I've seen this done before in SP, so I know it can work.

@ThePrototype the rotor can be angled back by 20° using the pitch control, so I don't think that's the issue.

Hmmm, I've built one before but I lost it....... you could try angling the entire rotor slightly backwards and see if that works
