Installing Mods on a Mac

2,664 LotusEngineering  6.0 years ago

Hey everyone! I just got my computer fixed, and I wanted to download some mods on my computer (2017 MacBook Pro, no touch bar). When I download the file, I get an error saying I can't open it because there isn't a program on my computer to.

How do I fix this, and is there an application I can download for this? (I downloaded SP from the App Store btw)

Thanks!

@Rodrigo110 Sorry, I thought you were discussing IOS. Yes, mods are available to steam users. I apologize, you are correct and I am slow to learn.

What? Mods and updates are available on Mac OS. Fine tuner is a available for download on Mac as well as Overload. What are you talking about? @F104Deathtrap

@Rodrigo110 That makes no sense. But hey, it's your time, not mine. Believe whatever you choose.

Well, there is actually... you can just download it from steam. Then you have all mods @F104Deathtrap

Apple does not allow such modifications to software or hardware. This is part of the supposed appeal of apple products in the first place. There is literally nothing you can do short of getting a device made by another company.

@Mostly Oh! Followed your path and found the folder. Time to see if it works!

UPDATE: how would I run the file after it's inside the folder?
UPDATE 2: Figured it out! Thanks!

@LotusEngineering Username>Library>Application Support>Steam>steamapps>Workshop>Content>Select the top folder and drag the .spmod file there. Open sp and see if it's there. If it's not, download Unity, then go to: Username>Library>Application Support>Unity.Jundroo.Simpleplanes>Mods

You can't download mods if you downloaded SP from app store.
