Oh, now I know what happened, I was on the ww2 torpedo bomber mission, and the VTOL engines plus some other engines were gone because you cannot use them So they didn’t appear on the building menu.
Huh... weird, I scrolled down earlier, there were only the fuel tank, the three propeller engines, two blasto jet engines, inlets and the car engine, but now when I check, the VTOLs are all back.

Oh wait have you scrolled down? They're between the VTOL RCN and the most powerful engine.

I can only find the propeller engines and two blasto engines, but the VTOL nozzles and the VTOL engines are gone.@jamesPLANESii

And the VTOL engine looks like a normal engine from the front but it doesn't have a back to it.
They're called VTOL nozzles and they're little.
