How to keep a torpedo steaming?

It's been on and off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and I don't know how to keep it consistent.

I have a torpedo I'm working on. It's a tube with a propeller at the back, essentially. It floats fine and I can keep it straight, but the propeller sometimes shuts off once I launch it. It has fuel, the throttle is at 100%, but as soon at it leaves the plane, it just gives up on its role completely. What causes this, and how do I get it to keep running like it normally does?

@RailfanEthan I asked for torpedoes, not missiles XD But yeah, when I try it-- even reverse-engineer it exactly-- it.. won't work... VTOL's a bit ugly anyhow.

@RailfanEthan I was just told you can't use VTOL anymore. Stops working when its detached form the plane.

You might have to use VTOL tech instead for propulsion. Have a VTOL engine on the plane and nozzles on the torpedo, and make sure to have the torpedo spin.

@MechWARRIOR57 I think something might have changed. I sure hope not! Otherwise, I won't be able to make my dreams of a helicopter with working fly-by-wire come true D*:
And that is a fate marginally worse than death, figuratively speaking!!
