For some reason, when I try to go to freeroam on my Android phone, there's no HUD and it freezes like this.

Could you disable the mods and try again, just to rule them out as a possibility? After you disable the mods, use the android application manager to force stop the game before jumping back in and trying again.
@NathanMikeska Oh, and just in case, I have installed the Fine tuner mod, the gyroscopic cockpit, and the overload mod on my phone.
