screw powered plane

so a boat can be powered by screw so i want to try to make a screw powered plane instead of using a propeller it would use a screw if some one could help by building me the screw i will give them 3 up votes

    You would need a very huge yet light screw to power a plane... and its a bit too tedious to build so nope

    @FlyingThings what i dont get about the land vehicles is how they turn because if you turn like a tank with this method of propulsion then it would offset the screws and you would be constantly trying to correct it so you dont turn in one direction

    n@FlyingThings not any more but if you research it the first ideas to get propulsion through water without wind was a screw instead of a propeller but then they discovered that the propeller would provide more propulsion so we use propellers today in modern boats

    a screw is longer and is a wound up circle a propler has sections and is not long or wound up its baically sheets of wood or metal that are tilted
