I present to you: Hafner Rotabuggy. Yeah, it's a Willys Jeep with a rotator kite. And it flew. The one and only model built had to be dragged by a bomber in order to fly (as proved by a few car attempts). The design was scrapped because it wasn't exactly the most efficient. However, it does look pretty neat.

I imagine a squadron of these flying into occupied France, loaded to the brim with scorching hot tea and frozen crumpets. Then "strafing" the jerries until surrender. I don't know why I said this :/.
It looks like the jeep tried to become a general aviation plane, then decided halfway through that it then wanted to be a helicopter...
This was made to put fear into the hearts of the enemies... The birds!
