Wouldn't it be cool if you were to open up the box containing action groups that there was another button above the tab arrow that acts as a shift key and toggles on the second set of 8 action groups?
One more button and we could have 8 more action groups. I don't know about you guys but that sounds like the bees knees to me.
What do you guys think?

@KerlonceauxIndustries but you could choose to use them or not? i am making an aircraft carrier and i need more activation groups . because of the lag of activation groups i can only put 3 airplanes on there carrier
Here's my idea: you should be able to choose which groups are always on, like AG 8.
More action groups + mechanically too complex design = mechanically complex but properly functioning design.

@MrMecha it wouldn't add anything to the screen other than one small button above the down arrow tab when you have the action groups box open. When you press it the 2nd set of action groups would overlay the 1st set instead of showing both sets at the same time. The button would act similar to a shift key, making action group 1 and action group 9 the same physical button on the screen but it would act as group 1 with the shift key off and act as group 9 with the shift key on. So the only visual change of the UI would be the button above the arrow tab, and perhaps a color shift of the action groups when the shift key is pressed. @XxcreedexX
@MrMecha maybe it would be like how you have two sections for the weapons, air mode and ground mode, if you sort of did something similar to that for the second activation group tab that could help with keeping it uncluttered
