The Importance of Detail

Most players on SP might just think of detail as something that just adds unnecessary complexity to projects. While there is some merit to this, a little detail can make a huge difference in your project's looks.

Here's a perfect example, a project of mine named VARIANCE: Traditional. This project was simply a plane with a spacey mandible design.

Take a look at these screenshots. The first set of screenshots is of the Undetailed Mandible Spacecraft. The second set of screenshots is of the Finished Mandible Spacecraft.

Don't get me wrong, both planes are beautiful. The detailed one just has a different look, which I prefer.

Enjoy.

Before detail:

After detail:

That's all for this post. The design links are in the beginning blurb...

I Agree. The undetailed Variance got 9 upvotes. The deailed Variance got 22 upvotes. What a difference!

you must get 100s of upvotes for these kinds of planes...
And I agree with this because the more detail the more better...

On top of my previous statement, good job keeping the part count low on this build.

High detail is good, but it is even better when done with a low part cound. Someone who can make highly detaild creations is a great builder. Someone who can get the same level of detail, but with fewer parts is a better builder. ( I'm not saying you're bad. )

"Little". That is not a little detail. Not even on the first plane is it little

@oDDDynamics True. I don't really understand why ccooper of all people was targeted. His designs were fine, even if he didn't experiment or deviate from single engine prop planes much at all. Some plats had much worse designs...

@oDDDynamics Some of the best designs are simple. It all depends on building techniques and style.
