Sanctan Empire:
A theocratic absolute monarchy, they once ruled vast areas of Earth. However, corruption and favoritism by the highest authorities, the Trinity, led to the dissolution of much of the empire and what remains is a rump state in Greater Paternia. Their culture is derived from the Middle East, and have populations of Catholic Christians, Orthodox Jews, and Shiite Muslims. They are highly patriarchial, with women and minorities afforded the same rights as children. Their armed forces currently number approximately 500,000, and are mostly used for policing duties. However, at their peak, they had up to 33 million men at arms.

League of Olympia: (Dissolved)
A theocratic representative democracy, they succeeded the Sanctan Empire over most of Greater Paternia. Popular unrest after the failure of several conflicts has resulted in the dissolution and the establishment of the Republic of Hellas. They are culturally similar to the Ancient Greeks, and are mostly pagan. While society is still patriarchal, women do serve in important positions and have risen to high positions through merit. At the peak of their power, they had a total of 12 million men and women at arms. At its dissolution, it was only a sixth of that, at 2 million men and women, lost to action, capture, desertion, and disease.

Republic of Hellas:
A secular federal republic, they are the successor state of the League of Olympia, and were borne out of popular unrest in the League of Olympia. They have allied themselves with the Pilotmario Republic. They have adopted the liberal philosophy of the Pilotmario Republic, though is generally considered patriarchal due to the Olympian influence. They possess a large portion of the Olympian military, totalling 9.5 million strong.

Pilotmario Republic/Paternian Republic:
A democratic socialist republic, they maintain authority over the entirety of Lesser Paternia. Part of their ancestry is connected to intellectuals and "heathens" fleeing the Sanctan Empire during their many purges, while the other part is connected to the native Paternians, whose liberal ideals were quickly accepted by the refugees, who lent their technical knowledge to the Paternians. The Paternians are slightly matriarchal, as family name is passed on from the mother's side. Although their military of 5 million soldiers, sailors, and airmen is relatively small, their individual skill, superior tactics, and excellent logistics allow them to defeat much larger adversaries.

Teutonic Empire:
An absolute monarchy, they maintain authority over Karama, and are ruled by the iron-fist of Kaiser Ferdinand von Wilhelm IV. They have long sought control over Paternia, and have fought the Sanctan Empire and the League of Olympia over this. They currently are at war with the Pilotmarian Republic due to the threat their forces possess at the conquest of Paternia. They are also highly patriarchal, like the Sanctans, and regard women as nothing but childbearers, housewives, and caretakers. Non-Teuton races are considered inferior, and only good for unskilled labor and forced servitude. With a 27 million man army, they wield one of the largest forces on the planet, and have proven to be very skilled.
