@Monarchii oh there’s definitely lesser evils, they just still suck.
Oftentimes, in regards to countries which aren’t completely awful, the lesser the evil the more ineffectual they are, too.
@Graingy I don't get any tomatoes? :3
.
fair point, the Dutch(and Brits) also tried to recolonize us post-WWII after the Japs took over.. and the Netherlands just relatively recently apologized for the atrocities(as in, the 300+ years of colonization) so like I'm split
.
the Brits.. well, they're British.
.
and US.. well there's Freeport, embargoes when we worked with russia(totally justified? hmm pondering...), and much other stuff
.
Russia... yeah, also some(LOT)
@Monarchii Gotta fix your own problems.
While the former colonial powers are probably better than they used to be, having others try to fix things rarely works out well, especially when those others can hardly fix themselves.
It's a shitty world, eh?
it's also corrupt af from like, even the lowest government body.. no, that's not an exaggeration. like okay I know there's corruption in every country, but like, we're that but several times worse.
.
one of the bill we're trying to pass is "seizing asset of corrupt politicians/anyone in government" but as you can imagine, we're not passing it. why? OH MAN, WHY I WONDER? DAMNIT INDONESIA WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS
@Graingy honestly idk anymore, idw be a chauvinistic person but in a way I was? hell, I think we're still doing killings in Papua or something and the more I think about it, the more I wanna just.. not be indonesiaaan? gahh
@Monarchii Every country has skeletons. Some much more the others.
Wanna hear the kicker? The US supported the killings.
The US may’ve treated its own citizens and closest allies better, but if you neither then they were just as bad as the Soviets.
I’m hardly familiar with Indonesia’s political system, though supposedly it is democratic to some degree, but I imagine this is something where you just have to hope fate will punish the right people, unlikely as that may be.
@Graingy fair point, ill try to see what's the video about specifically. everytime I talked about communist in Indonesia it just immediately reroutes itself to politics(oh so good, oh so BAAD. that kind of insuffering). I personally know that I know little about it, and I kinda wanna keep it that way since.. well, I guess I'll try learning it now? I know our history's kinda weird, and I personally don't know whether I wanna be.. informed? tbh it's both laziness and fear of defending my patriotism for Indonesia? it doesn't make sense now that I think more about it so.
@Monarchii Dude I'm gonna be real mass torture and killing isn't "just politics". Those are atrocities, and the culprits got away scot-free. Hell, they actively brag about what they did!
I understand there's nothing you can do about it, but choosing to ignore it entirely isn't morally neutral.
@Monarchii A video essay summarizing a documentary called The Act of Killing, following a man who participated in the mass torture and murder of communists/“suspected” communists in Indonesia.
Horrific shit, though fascinating how the human mind will make up all sorts of excuses to protect itself from guilt or feeling responsible.
hahahahhahhahhahahahehhehehehe
@Monarchii cool hats above all
peace above all? yeah no, in this world?
@Graingy that's true the more I see it.. *sigh*
@Monarchii oh there’s definitely lesser evils, they just still suck.
Oftentimes, in regards to countries which aren’t completely awful, the lesser the evil the more ineffectual they are, too.
@Graingy in the world of lesser evils... well shit, EVERYONE is evil.
@Monarchii world of assholes. Each and everyone one of them. Everyone.
@Graingy I don't get any tomatoes? :3

@LunarEclipseSP more like.. Warehouse? is that like, Werewolf but House?
.
it is now.
If a house got bit by a werewolf, will it be turning into a warehouse?

@Graingy oh, I stay away from those. I know there's bad but there's also good, then again isn't everything is if you look at it? screw politics, man.
