What's your history with SimplePlanes?

1,202 TheLoadingGorilla  one month ago

Did you read the title? Please say yes.

Anyways! Assuming you read the title you'll understand what I’m talking about. I first heard of SimplePlanes a while back (probably early 2016 or late 2017) from a friend who had it on his kindle. I bought the game for $1.50 (yep, a buck and 50 cents... those were the days, eh?) on my kindle. Shortly after my kindle went kapoot! (and frankly I don’t blame it, a device built for shopping and reading electronic books doesn't handle games like Minecraft, Plants vs Zombies, and SimplePlanes very well). But fear not! I was not deprived of screen time, for my father got me an iPad. And let me tell you, it was like heaven playing on that iPad after having my creativity confined by a crappy kindle (I may or may not be slightly proud of that particular use of alliteration). In May of 2023 I got SimplePlanes on my iPhone and soon after I got it on my Mac (which is what I am currently using). And that's about it!

Now, how about you?

What a thrill, thank you so much!

    TitanVector

    You are my best friends.

    So, to summarize my story

, it's sad. I lost my first account early, but this account led me to meet incredible, wonderful people. There was so much humiliation 🥺 criticism 🥺 accusations 🥺 no chance to grow 🥺 All of this made me extremely sad, but I managed to return. all of this made me stronger.

And today I make better planes without criticism; sometimes I receive more, but not like in the beginning.

It's clear to me that losing my user account was done to me by a group formed by several users here in the SP community, something I will never forgive what they did to me.

@TitanVector We go by the pronouns that you'd use to describe multiple people at once (since we're a company), or (heavily simplified) She/They if you describe us as a singular person, but still a great description of how we met!

I'll keep it short and simple. I was searching for a random, literally a random vehicle building game and I ended up on SimplePlanes. Plus I found out that this game got a web-based workshop and community to socialize and the community itself is making me so comfortable and very fun. I guess I never regret of discovering this game.

@TitanVector I don’t think it's boring! That’s why I posted this forum, I enjoy hearing people's experiences. And it sounds like you made a lot of friends, which is much more important than any amount of upvotes in my opinion.
I’m curious, where exactly are you from? (If this is a weird question you don’t have to answer it, I’m just curious.)

I know my story is boring... But It's the history behind TitanVector. Right?
And also, sorry for tags. It was boring to make it somehow not mention them and leaving a way to see their profile.

Part 4: while watching Jetstream to see the newest crafts made by my friends, I found a spotlighted craft made by @Nonso . He was underrated too. And he supported me too... What made another great friendship.
And at last, I found @SeacomDefenseIndustries . He was nice and somehow underrated. And the story of friendship between us was just like the story with Nonso. But they had differences in both build types and personality.
And now? I'm here, not building the bests but building things that they are actually good.

Part 3: one day, I see @ZealousKestrel fighter jets. He was underrated (and it's still underrated too) so I started with Simply supporting him. And because of his good reactions, we made a friendship. Then, he made the Zone Wars. We were enemies in the first weeks what damaged our friendship. And then, becoming an ally with him made our friendship greater.
While Searching for a truck that was compatible with almost all upgrades, I found RD Mudrunner by @RB107 . He allowed me to modify it. What started our friendship. Then, he supported me in the next builds and modifications. Thanks to his actions, our friendship became even greater. (And also... RB107 was my favorite creator before creating account in SP site)

Part 2: And after a few days... I uploaded the TAE-VI. That wasn't good in that time. It didn't had good features and it was extremely ineffective in part quantity. But, thanks to @LunarEclipseSP, The 6th TAE became popular and got more than 10 Upvotes. That wasn't all I got from the TAE-VI, I met more friends too.
One day, in when watching newest crafts, I see a underrated craft. @Kav was it's builder. And that "watching crafts" made one of the best friendships that I ever seen... And then, after a few days, we found that we are actually compatriots.
And... I found @WG by accidentally searching the forums. And he? He started to be nice to me and... He upvote bombed me and pushed me in another level in points. Upvote bombing wasn't all that WG done. Just like Kav, He stayed with me in all builds. They even made me more stronger and the became the reason that I'm still want to become more popular in this site.

Part 1: I Found SP around 7 (or maybe 8) months ago. I was downloading too many aircrafts but didn't had any activity in site. And after 1 months of training and advancing, I built something that was somehow legend (compared to my builds in that time, but now it's just a trash and a placeholder) and then, created an account and uploaded it.
I was confident in that moment and I thought it was one of the best tanks in site (and I was 100% wrong) and then, I met with @Mitterbin . He supported me in those days (even when knowing that my builds are not that good) and after that, I made two Ships. TAE-I and TAE-II. Those Ships and supports from Mitterbin, made a bridge for me to meet @TheRLAF . (Another username in that time) And he? He becomed the reason that I'm in gold. He became the only reason of TitanVector's Existence. He made turned me from a scrap maker to a Super-Tech Builder.

I was exposed to SimplePlanes by a old 747 tutorial on YouTube during the pandemic. Because I might have autism, my reaction was “oh mah gaw I want it.” So I begged my dad to buy it for me, and he did (yippee). I started playing on an IPHONE 5 S. IM NOT KIDDING. I started during the pandemic, and my first plane, which I did not post, was a blocky yet simple F-22 Raptor. Looking back at it, it was pretty okay, especially for me, who started just recently back then. Then I found out you can download planes, so I downloaded many planes, and yeah. That was it for the pandemic. Then I deleted it in 2023-2024 on my IPhone 5 s, and got it for my birthday on my potato iPad (which is slightly faster). That’s when I made my first builds I posted to the community. Now, I have a 2025 iPad Air at my dad’s house, and at my mom’s the potato iPad.

Also I just found out how to add images in bios. Awesome I know.

    .
a VinFage video showed up in my recommended, which was my first introduction. I thought this game looked cool and checked out his channel, then forgot about it entirely.
    .
A while later I found out about SP again and searched it on the google play store. I got it with a shared google play pass subscription and played around..
    .
I made an account a bit afterwards and posted my first planes, which were among the worst in looks or stability, and after the play pass subscription expired I forgot about it for a very long time.
    .
6 months ago, did I find out about it again, and I made friends over the time period of then to now, and I also used SP as a means to implement my worldbuilding project into something, which became my first RP Zone wars (ZWRP), my most notable presence on the site.
    .
I have recently been trying to stray more away from reskinning other people's planes, and begun making my own, for the reason that I have the most knowledge on the topic of my own planes, and have more freedom.
