In the past few years, Spin has not yet recovered from the riots. The Social Democratic Union, led by Social democrat former president Carlos Prado, has been increasingly more aggressive and vocal with their dissatisfaction with the current administration. Montesa has become widely considered as the laziest president Spin has ever had. With Montesa’s only real achievements being the facilitating of an agreement between Bruh-zil and Your-pan on peace talks, cancelling wasteful and unnecessary military projects to replace with modern and useful technology, and fixing the mole infestation on the presidential lawn. It is expected that Montesa will not be winning the 1968 election very soon, and that the other political parties will have more favorable conditions for the election. Rumors have started of Montesa’s nervous expectations for the election, and his power resulting in a refusal to leave office. These are unconfirmed reports however. Furthermore, in the last 3 years there have been 2 known assassination attempts on Montesa. The first was a complete failure, and the second assassin shot Montesa in the shoulder to which he survived. It is unlikely he will run again according to many Madrid-bases newspapers, but this is skepticism just like the rumors.
