Hi,
So I have an issue that I can't really figure out by myself about fuel consumption.
I'm currently making a replica of an Etendard IV M, I would like it to have the right fuel capacity and so the right fuel consumption.
So I'm looking for a solution that won't add or remove fuel.
Currently, my plane drinks 1430Kg of fuel in 7m, this quantity of fuel should be used in 11m.
Thanks in advance for helping me out,
Bye,
Ollie.
Thanks Edensk, SilverStar and BangRou for the solution, which is :
-Select your engine and open overload.
-Reduce the
max
value in theInputController
section.-Proportionally scale up the
powerMultiplier
value in theEngine
section.@StockPlanesRemastered Yeah, I will do further testing later today to see if there's any other downsides to this method but I'm happy that there is indeed a solution for fuel consumption.
@Graingy Yup I noticed that, luckily with the consumption I was aiming the result was a quieter noise, so it will be easily modified with other engines.
And since I don't use that engine for looks or the flame it wasn't really a downside for me.
Thanks for the comment.
Of course, changing throttle limit also affects noise and the flame/afterburner effect - also nozzle diameter if you’re using the low bypass turbofan.
@ollielebanania huh. Interesting.
@StockPlanesRemastered Just timed it again, it didn't go back to the original value, the fuel consumption is lower
@ollielebanania when you do that it pics the fuel consumption right back up to where it was before.
if you put all your internal sound parts on a detacher/rotator, their "intake air" value will be zero and will not consume fuel and still make noise
@StockPlanesRemastered Can't we solve that problem by changing the engine powerMultiplier ?
I'm willing to understand but it did work out great for me
@ollielebanania That's a myth. because the fuel consumption on turbines (Y) is a linear function of the throttle or thrust input (X) and not a radical function, Using the min/max of input trick actually doesn't work without severely changing engine performance.
@ollielebanania I didn’t think about input limiting, I suppose my technique would be easier but yours would be more precise
Fuel Consumption rates in Liters per second:
T1000 - 0.11
T2000 - 0.4
T3000 - 0.7
Blasto J15 - 0.4
Blasto J50 - 1.5
Blasto J90 - 2.1
Blasto VTOL - 1.75
BFE150 - 4.0
BFE300 - 4.5

I don’t think consumption rates change with power multiplier so you could use an more efficient jet engine (J15) and then use hidden props or something to bring the consumption levels up to the correct amount. I think a liter weighs about 0.8 kg in this game, so you have about 1144 L of fuel, which you need to burn at a rate of 104 L/minute or 1.73 L/second so you could use a J50 and a couple sneaky T1000s to get pretty close.
This is all napkin math that may be incorrect, I think you should be able to do your own calculations tho
