you can hardly tell what the plane looks like on this post yet it remains up for months. but a line art filter can cause a plane to get taken down???
bro this sites moderation better not turn into roblox's moderation.
This post with the thumbnail is the example of a grainy screenshot Simpleplanes| [EX] Anomaly-GA.V-009 ''Spaceship Oleg'' https://share.google/QmYVxBzknxPPVgC3l
@crazyplaness I'm just curious as to how this post is misleading because under the uploading rules:
"While we allow photoshopped thumbnails, posts with misleading thumbnails will be removed." No mention of hand drawn things...
Your comment below "While the thumbnail does show the craft and is based on an in-game screenshot, it isn’t representative of the actual craft since it doesn’t show the fine details, colors, and can’t be replicated in game."
Because you need to compare the 2 photos and they both clearly match apart from the F-3 title thingy added but that's just detailing...
anyway back to your comment so the reason for removal is "doesn’t show the fine details, colors, and can’t be replicated in game." This user that @CaptainNoble mentioned is a perfect example of the colours it's got none in the first photo or then details if people take screenshots of their craft on mobile devices and then do the blueprint trick but because the details are grainy or not set to "Moderator standards" it's just gonna be pulled down for being a misleading thumbnail...
By the way the term misleading under the Cambridge Dictionary: "to cause someone to believe something that is not true" so using that definition ok sure I can agree that it looks like a pencil drawing but that's only detailing how is it misleading...
it's like saying that film that got done in colour is "misleading" because originally it was black and white or if someone drew a plane in gray pencil is it misleading... well if the plane had 3 vertical stabilizers then yes if it's only ment to have 1 or take the A3 meme which is a very very shortened fuselage of the A318 baby bus if I saw an A3 thumbnail on an A318 post that's misleading...
just because a thumbnail is missing some colour or looking like a pencil drawing isn't misleading however the rule that it was posted under is now misleading as to what a misleading thumbnail is...!
In some of my older creations I used exaggerated filters and never had any problems, like this one , This one or this one, So what is fair on this site?
@crazyplaness, can you just restore the damn build, you pretty much made up this law on the spot, this isn't what the "misleading thumbnail" rule refers to.
Maybe some strict rules for shaders should be added, clear rules actually improves creativity, as game IP copyright areas have found out.
My opinion is that your drawing-style shader pack is too far off the build
@DARZAVIATION the 1st and 3rd still look fairly obviously simpleplanes, since the colors are retained. The 2nd one is definitely going too far, i think it's enough for mods to remove.
32's example is also enough to remove
The only difference is the color, like, whats in the thumbnail is the plane it’s the same thing it’s not misleading at all it’s just too cool for school I guess
I believe that the rules only state that a plane will be removed if the thumbnail is misleading, so there’s not really any precedent. If it doesn’t show any fine details or colors guess that black-and-white images taken from a distance aren’t allowed. The only think I can think of is I vaguely remember a mod saying it did have to be a game screenshot and not a blender render but crazyplanes should have said that and not made it up retroactively after being told it was just a filter.

this one also prolly needs to be taken down if that’s the rule we’re following
@crazyplaness it might interest you to take a look at this user's posts, if you're going to police people's thumbnails don't do it partially
@Boeing727200F we are busy, and we aren't omniscient.
Took the devs a while and my F-208B was taken down.
SIX MONTHS AFTER POSTING IT
@32 i do like it too, very spicy
@ToeTips Yes
@crazyplaness
Can I re-upload with another thumbnail?
@CaptainNoble, I’ve discussed this with other moderators, and we’ve decided to keep it removed.
@crazyplaness, can you just restore the damn build, you pretty much made up this law on the spot, this isn't what the "misleading thumbnail" rule refers to.
@hpgbproductions
Alright then, if it's a function of vague and obscure rules, can I have my post back or do I re-upload?

I do not agree with the mods verdict on this one.
@ToeTips I like your way of thinking 😈
@32
Well then, if I really wanted to, I could scour the site for similar thumbnails they let slide and make a new forum post about each one I find.
Plus if I were to re-upload, I'd be breaking another rule.
@ToeTips I like my plane game drama like I like my Thai food… spicy
@32
Very good point.
So is it possible we reinstate the post so I can delete this forum post and we can all move past this?

@crazyplaness
Well now you know it's not, there's proof that it is actually a filter of a screenshot in SP. Can I have my post back?
@Bugati87 @ToeTips I probably could have explained it more clearly. I removed it because it looks like a pencil drawing, and not a simpleplanes craft.
