HAPPY SILVER!!!
WOW, i didnt think i would make it to silver.. well, i did, but i thought it would take about 5 months. (it took 2.6 years)
STORYTIME!!! (im sorry for the amount of links i put in here, and for the length of it... there may be grammar errors, i wrote it in one take and revised it only once)
i started out rougher than other creators. the first thing i did when i got simpleplanes with google play pass on my chromebook (past the tutorial), was make my first aircraft, which i called "Spaceship" in the files. it was nice practice, and taught me about block framing.
That was BEFORE i discovered the power of fuselages. after i checked out the site for the first time, i made an account, and downloaded a few planes and checked them out. i saw how their frames looked very smooth, and wondered how that was possible with blocks. i found out they used fuselages, and wanted to make an awesome jet like that!
i cooked up the Crimson Dart in a few hours. i ripped engines from a random jet i found and slapped them on the back. i made the wing dihedral crazy cause i thought it looked sick as hell. i slapped a bunch of weapons on to the wings. i put 3 vertical stabilizers and a few nav lights. i thought it looked great.
then google play pass expired. it wasn't my google play pass subscription, it was a family pass thingy, so i was too scared to ask for it to be renewed. i would instead wait for a good time to buy the game in full. that time came when i got my first personal windows computer for free from school.
that brick could barely run anything that didn't have the most lenient requirements. i already had a steam account, and got a bunch of games, excluding simpleplanes, since i had completely forgotten about it.
i only remembered it existed almost a year back, when i got into aviation, and would watch combat flight simulator videos. a VinFage video popped up in my recommended, and i suddenly remembered simpleplanes existed!
i got simpleplanes on steam about 7 months ago, but got the full game on my chromebook only 1 month ago, where i played it a LOT.
i had went on the search bar and was searching for thrust vectoring flankers (as one does), and found Meyerolimar's Su-33SM. coolest thing ever, i downloaded it on the spot, changed the paint scheme and edited a bit of stuff about it, while also cooking up the YM-22 Lancer missile to go along with my edited version, which was basically the same. (Su-33SM Rogue Nation).
i then thought to myself. "i should make my own version of this jet", and so i did. the Su-41X was my version of the flanker. a beauty, with an awesome livery, and some more weapons where the Su-33SM lacked. i also made an edited version with better afterburners, and VTOL version that is completely lore inaccurate!
the vortices mod had also recently come out, so i made my own no mods vortices since android cant run mods.
i would also remake my C-15 speeder car into the MK.2 and the MK.3.
i was on a roll, pumping out these crafts pretty quickly. then i saw WinsWing's 5th Gen Challenge, which drew me in instantly. WinsWings is like an idol to me, and i had never done a challenge before, so this was a great chance to change up my Su-41X into what i really wanted it to be, a stealth flanker.
the F/A-42 "Heron" is my magnum opus, and it has pushed me closer and closer and closer... and now to the point of silver. thanks to all who upvoted my crafts (that were - to be honest - BUNS), thank you WinsWings for subtly indicating that my build was peak by spotlighting me (1), thanks to all who followed me and downloaded my planes, and thank you, to all of the SimplePlanes community, for creating an environment i can confidently call home.
OTHER
(1) thank you WinsWings my GOAT////
special thanks to @RandomPlayer for communicating with me 2 years ago, several random comments on my posts for giving me motivation to make the things i've made recently, and Jundroo for making the greatest aircraft building and flying simulator i have ever played. i can't wait for SP2, and you bet my builds will be as best as i can make them.
Keep going!!!
@Randomplayer i dont think that was the last time, but it was the first.
(also, this means i am no longer in the ranks of "slight noob" and i am now in the ranks of "amatuer")
Congrats on silver! also wow its been 2 years?!
