The Prighozhnyya Design Bureau has been developing a pair of aircraft. One designed for stealth and long range combat - the Sniper, and one designed for maneuverability and close range combat - the Dagger.
Prigozhnyya began development on Pr.AC13-1 in November of 2013, with the first mockup being finished by October of 2014, and the first flightworthy model being made in early 2015. This early model was severely lacking, however, as it had to utilize a "stability augmentation system", which destroyed the aircraft's maneuverabilty and posed issues when it lost control, killing one test pilot. The original variation of the aircraft was scrapped, and a new variant began production in later 2015, being significantly better.
The Dagger, (Pr.AC13-2), didn't start development until 2014, as Prigozgnyya prioritized the Sniper project. However, the Dagger didn't have near as many issues and the production model has very little variation from the prototype
Both aircraft utilize the new "pod" system, which allows missiles to be loaded much quicker, decreasing the time it takes to prepare the aircraft. The early version of the Sniper featured a pair of bays on the bottom of the fuselage for GBU-2000 Rättes, but issues arose in the design of the pod and caused the idea to be scrapped. The original variant also carried its 6 PARS-1M missiles in an overwing bay, but that was scrapped due to stability and firing issues.
Assuming they are adopted, Exeron is likely to name them the JS-60A Sniper and JS-47A Dagger.
Pr.AC13-1 (Project. Aircraft 13) will be posted before AC13-2 due to the fact that the Sniper is fully ready, but the Dagger is not. Nevertheless, both should be posted tomorrow
