Exeron

The United Socialist State of Exeron (USSE or just Exeron) is a smaller nation in Northern Europe, Bordering Sweden and Finland at its southernmost point. Exeron has commonly low temperatures, making much of the nation uninhabited save for the larger factories and data centers that use the naturally low temperatures as a cooling mechanism. Exeron is a relatively green nation, as it has completely switched from coal to nuclear and solar power, using the reflectivity of the snowy north to its advantage. However, electric vehicles are rare, as they don’t function very well in colder climates. Due to this, Exeron has been at work developing an alternative to no avail, however, Exeron has completely moved from regular Petroleum to the cleaner Ethanol, being one of the first nations to only use the fuel. Exeron has very few large cities, with the major three being Rattenheim (The Capital of Exeron), Lexington (the capital of the Lexington Province), and the city of Sullenholm (the capital of the Korg Province). Only two provinces make up Exeron, with Rattenheim being built right on the border in the Korg half. Originally, the two provinces were separate nations that unified in 1892 under the Exeron Treaty, following 20 years of bloodshed. However, Lexington has revolted against the government on various occasions, with the most major being the 1984 Lexington Revolution, which lasted until June of 1992. Since then, Lexington and Korg have been united under a newer system of rule.

Due to their positioning, Exeron has 3 official languages, those being Swedish, English, and Finnish. The nation used to have its own language, but it has since died out with very few native speakers left. Exeron only became notable in 1935 military-wise, as despite being neutral, Exeron felt threatened by Finland’s Axis ties. However, Exeron holds many military alliances, originally between Sweden and Soviet Russia, but now Exeron is allied with most of Europe, though they ditched their alliance with Russia after 1962. However, it was in 1922 that the Kurt Aircraft Company was formed, being rebranded as the Exeron Aircraft Corporation following the death of founder Kurt Plionic in 1951. However, in 1936 a man named Nikolai Prighoznyya immigrated to Exeron from Russia, and established the Prighoznyaa Design Bureau following the market success of his T-I Talon design, sold to KAC. These two companies would make the backbone of Exeron’s military, utilizing weaponry from Macroware. However, the major companies have swapped to Umbra’s weaponry and have since incorporated Telemeter’s radar systems.

Exeron is led by a “Secretary General”, who leads for an 8 year time span during their first term, with a small election every 2 years to determine if they should stay. Following the 8 years, another election is held, and the former can run again. Like America, however, one can only serve two terms, consecutive or not. If a Secretary General is removed during the 2 year election, they are barred from the government. This has only ever occurred on one occasion due to the Secretary General attempting to dismantle the government to move it to a more totalitarian rule. However, depending on the circumstances of their removal, a Secretary General may be imprisoned, banished, or executed.

2004-2020: Ninth SG, Jane Skeletá
2020-Present: Tenth SG, Levi Leadbender
