No no, it is more of an elite combination of both methods.
While yes, welding is a far better method of securing two pieces of metal into one, it is dangerous, and requires skilled labour, so rivets, bolts, and screws will also be utilized.
Seeing as I'm completely unpracticed, I don't think I did too terribly.
