Several times recently I have been asked in the comments section, "Do you build airplanes anymore?" I was asked.
That's true. My recent builds are all "German panzers".
Let me explain a little about my situation and feelings.
If you've read my posts on X, you know that I've been into plastic model building for the past few months.
The completed model has a realistic-looking crawler that looks as if it will start moving at any moment... but it doesn't.
I wish it could move, but maybe in a SimplePlanes game I could make it happen.
With this in mind, I started to make a crawler that moves in the game. After much trial and error, I was very happy when I was able to make it work.
The crawler I make is not perfect. It sometimes comes off and sometimes explodes or turns into a kraken. But it is fun to move it. I make them because they are fun. I publish them because I made them. That's all there is to it.
Let's go back to the first question.
"Do you make airplanes anymore?"
Well, let me just answer, "No, I am not making them at the moment". By no means do I dislike airplanes. After all, I have built nearly 50 airplanes. There are still planes I would like to fly.
In fact, I tried to remake the F4F a few months ago.
It was going well, but when I got to the stage of producing a complex LG, for some reason I didn't want to make any more.
Once this project is on hold.
After all, it seems I want to build tanks now. That's all. I make what I want to make. The next one might be a tank, it might be a car, it might be an airplane, it might be something totally different. The depth of nostalgia that allows me to make anything and accepts it is what I like about SimplePlanes.
Finally, here's a teaser. I'm working on this build right now, and I'm sure I'll be able to release it soon.
Thank you for reading this long and rambling article.
