Graingy PSA: Citizen Responsibilities (Safe for the kiddies!)

25.3k Graingy  one month ago

Hello!

Welcome to SimplePlanes.com!

Some of you are brand new, while others of you have been here for half a decade or more. However long you’ve been here, it’s important that you remember your responsibilities!

Now, what am I talking about? How do you be a responsible sitegoer?
Sure, there’s the rules, but that’s only the first layer. That’s for you and you personally. What I’m talking about is response!
Response to what, you may ask?

Response to rule-breakers!

Now, I’m not talking about petty trolls, nasty arguments, or obnoxious thieves. No, I’m talking about major crimes. Crimes so bad that I can’t even talk about them here!

So, what do you do?

Report!

These lowlife scumbags need a prescription of only one thing and one thing only, justice.

I’ll admit there have been times where I myself have talked about still-raw past dramas that should be left in the ground, or tried to break up arguments past the rhetorical event horizon. There have also been times where I blatantly tested the Moderation. I’m not perfect. But these are not things you can accidentally fall into. These are premeditated.

What would you do if you were walking along the street and you saw someone on a building throwing rocks at people?
You’d call the police!
Same thing on this site. If someone’s causing a ruckus and there’s nothing you can personally do, just report them! Tell your buddies, if need be. I’ve been informed (source pending) that enough reports on a craft and it’s removed automatically. If that many people are raising the alarm, something must be up!
There’s strength in numbers!

For you and I, do your service to the community and Report, Report, Report!

Thank you, and have a lovely day!

Note: Do NOT talk about the recent issue, or any other specific issues, in the comments. I don’t want this taken down over that.
If you wish to discuss things in general, fine, so long as it’s productive towards the goal of keeping our site clean.

    Example:
No: “I hated when [Person] did [Offence]. They did it constantly and kept deflecting or manipulating people, then kept doing it!”
Yes: “I wish more people would credit others. We should encourage newer players to concisely credit people if they used something someone else made so that they make it a habit.”

This was essentially a “Mission accomplished” moment, so I’d like to try to keep things positive/raise spirits. I don’t know how to remove others’ comments, but if I did I’d wield that power here against people taking this in the wrong direction.
If you want to complain, as fun as it is, find somewhere else.

@MrSilverWolf This is probably going to sound ignorant, but what did I do?
If it was the "Draw a dick" comment then... fair. I probably let my inner elementary schooler out a bit to much there.

"someone on a building throwing rocks at people?"
Reminds me of that one person who got arrested for teaching their dog to throw bricks at people who rang his doorbell

Unfortunately, not everyone can spotlight as many people as you can.

@Graingy what happens if they also consume the wrong information? i don't need to explain anything, just let these 8yo's actions speak for itself.

    @DatTrainAndCarGuy19 Agreed.
Though I doubt such high-end crimes would be committed by an iPad toddler, unless you’re saying that’s what iPad toddlers grow into.
I think suspected children should be
1: Informed of the age requirement
2: If likely meeting requirement, given tips on how to talk less obviously like a child (because it’s awkward).

This is why letting your kids on the ipad without supervision is bad people, especially you lazy parents.
