The Decline
I remember back when I started playing SimplePlanes there used to be new posts just about every minute.
Lately it’s about 20 minutes between posts.
There’s simply less people playing the game. I used to get about 10 notifications a day, now I’m lucky if I get 1 a week.
This game is one of a kind, no other game has the building capabilities of SimplePlanes, you can build complex transmissions or realistic replicas.
The main problem:
No one knows about this game. Players quit sure, but new players need to come in to replace them.
There’s no advertising for either SimplePlanes or simplerockets other than YouTube and word of mouth.

Has anyone actually used this?
SimplePlanes would be a much greater tool than Minecraft education edition.
Conclusion
This game has given me the chance to learn so much and make great friends. Why not give that opportunity to other people?
Get your games out there Andrew, YouTube isn’t cutting it anymore.
My main point is the game needs to be put out there.
Even if Andrew updates the game it won’t matter if no one but the website knows.

Same @Skyler101… seriously recently I’m lucky if I get 8 upvotes for a build. I feel this game is starting to run dry… not gonna lie I have also started to loose more and more interest in the game and I keep on having longer and longer breaks between builds. Where as when I was new I could consistently post 4-5 posts per week where now I can get 1-2 or 3 on some occasions. I was lucky to be able to almost revive my account after a period of only getting a few 2-5 upvotes per build. The game needs something!

The game isn't dying, I would even say that it just entered a new golden age thanks to the last update.
People just think there is less and less players because as always, new players buy the game, play for 1 hour, think that the game is too complicated and leave, always has been like that.
The only difference is that at the time, good builders posted more oftenly, because there was less to play with (less coding, no variables, no cockpit parts, less parts). Now most good players take a lot of time to post because they take a lot of time to build, not because they are lazy, because there's so much more to explore now.
That's way there is much more shitty builds out here than good builds : most new players don't stay, good builders take their time, casual players post every two days shitty builds.

Bro, We literally just got a collab from fucking esa, we're good. The game is not dead, we have as many active players as we will ever need and the community is in an amazing place right now.
Tbh, I agree, old players leave because their not teens anymore and they have a life, and some of them leave because they feel like the game is a bit boring for them, and maybe some of the new people have school or other real life stuff which makes the site less active, just like 1 to 2 years ago it was way more active, now not so much

Kind of unrelated I guess, but Minecraft Education edition is used for a bit more then just Engineering education.
I don't think SP is losing popularity tbh

Only thing that has decreased is the quality of builds
Most flight models nowadays are disregarded entirely, there’s exceptions of course but for most cases there’s been a decline in quality and an increase of quantity.
I’ve spent like a year getting better because of it lol and I’ve got a few projects waiting.

All good things must come to an end unfortunately during covid the community was thriving but the game is slowing down it hasn't died but the teens from your era are now probably adults with better things to do @Sm10684
@Sm10684 @Kangy and the codes lines are now starting to break the game, missiles fly through mountains and terrain, sometimes when you crash part of your plane goes through the terrain AI is just totally messed up with parts spawning in seperated from the plane
