Bf 109 G-2 Gustav (Tropical)
Having attempted the camo I had planned previously, I quickly realized it was harder than I thought. So for now, I'm making this a tropical variant, The only major visual difference is the air filter added onto the main intake.
More importantly, the livery takes up less parts and is overall easier to pull off. Unfortunately, that did involve removing the functional spinner, which still had some issues.
I've also been doing tests with gunpods, which actually do hinder flight performance.
The main focus right now is getting more small details and improving the flight model, which is in a decent spot. If you pull really hard at higher speed (450+ km/h), the aircraft will start misbehaving and stall, which is actually what I want. (Pitch input will decrease with speed to help mitigate this.) I am wondering if I should put a FBW system to act like War Thunder's instructor too. Most WW2 warbirds would realistically be absolutely unflyable with a keyboard.
The propeller physics in SimplePlanes are really confusing though. Setting the engine XML power to 1399=700 SPhp (SimplePlanes horsepower, whatever that is) did help though.
Right now, the part count is at 212 with gunpods.

@ReinMcDeer you used my bf 109 nawwwww (fatal mistake)
so sp props are kinda goofy funky and dont really act like real ones so you have to cheat with ft a little bit. the only reason prop ww2 aircraft didnt reach mach 1 was because props lose thrust as speed increases (jet engines do not).

early jet engines like those on the me 262 actually had less takeoff (low speed) thrust than a propeller aircraft like the 190, which is why the me 262 has a longer takeoff roll than usual props even though it had a far higher top speed

The main issue is still the prop engine. Even with "half" as much HP as the real DB605A, it accelerates too fast

Hey tbh u shod have made an a4 skyhawk to combat ur f14,s like yr f14d a and b tbh I have used ur prop planes and they are not ur specialty jets are good tho

@ReinMcDeer, you can make a Mirage 2000, it's a very good fighter
pitch input decreasing with speed is realistic anyway since the turn ability of the 109 at higher speeds is literally how strong the pilot is

T maybe u could also have a simplified euro theatre livery, even just have a mix of greys and yellow parts and stuff u know?
