Bf 109 G-2 Gustav

Definitely not inpired by someone else's post.

I've been playing the Bf 109 in War Thunder recently, so I decided to make one in SimplePlanes. I wanted to make the K-4, but based on previous experience, I felt like it would be easier to start with a G-2 and convert it into later variants.

My first ever finished Bf 109 (This one didn't use blueprints.)

If you look closely, the sides of the fuselage aren't straight.

I've tried making Bf 109's before, but I was never happy with how they turned out. But with fuselage cutting, it's much easier to replicate its cross sections. It's the same technique used on the F-14 and F-86 fuselage, but with three sections this time.

The only paneled part here is the cockpit, which still doesn't have much paneling.

Flaps fully extended

Right now, I have it set up so the radiator flaps extend when on the ground for a period of time since that was procedure to prevent engine overheating.

There's also a functional oil cooler flap, but I don't know how it works. I've read on IL-2 BoS forums that it is manually controlled while others say its automatically controlled by maintaining oil pressure. Currently, it recedes with increased throttle. You can't tell in the pictures, but the spinner is also functional, being linked to the propeller RPM.

This is not a tropical variant, so I'm thinking of doing this color scheme.

F-22A Raptor and F-14B Tomcat

The F-22A Raptor still needs a lot of work and is sitting at 455 parts. The F-14B is almost done though. Although, the F-22A is going to be delayed by quite a bit since college is starting soon. I probably won't be doing larger projects like the Raptor for some time.
