they do that, dunno why. I usually turn air traffic off, and I'll spawn an aircraft if I want to do something to it.
I don't put air traffic at all due to me not being able to support multiple aircraft in the area if I have a "high" performance cost build.

dunno why, but I feel like the AI needs to have a little bit more control. It doesn't feel fun fighting against an AI, tbh.

Was the helicopter a new build?? @Maroon
The reason for asking this is because the strangest thing about Ai is that when you introduce a new craft into sandbox the Ai will always try and fly circles or whatever the hell it does like kamikaze into you not only that but Ai loves having a sabotage moment if the plane has bombs or explosives it will deliberately crash into the U.S.S beast fleet and all hell breaks lose cause then the Ai ships think that it is you that is trying to attack and in your goodwill you didn't even attack but then a nice player you are must then kill the destroyers before they kill you Ai also recently has a bug were the plane isn't one whole its half a plane 100 feet and the other half another different altitude Ai is so dumb and a tad buggy I find

I can tell you the Actua exact reason, the aircraft you are using is at least easy to control for the AI and the Ai is programmed to try its best to point directly at its target, and will only miss if its plane is slightly unstable, and after that it will circle back to try to point at the target again. but i will admit i have never seen a tanker kamikaze anything, usually you set it on a vector and it flies that vector perfectly.

AI is modeled after a kleptomaniac student pilot on their first flight ever after being deprived of sleep for a week.
