Any tips for working with small detailed parts?

7,674 SimplyNonsensical  2.5 years ago

I'm designing a cockpit for my build, but man is it a pain in the butt to get the tiny parts to where they need to be. I don't know if I'm doing things right at all sometimes.

Also, before anyone mentions, yes, I've used the connection editor. The connection editor just doesn't cut it, especially since the arrows are still massive regardless of the size of the object I'm moving around, which makes it difficult to assign the correct places. Are there mods or anything that makes building somewhat easier?

@Griffon1 Seems like sound advice. Will do.

if you have finetuner mod you can use the scaling feature, untick the checkbox that reads "scale only selected parts" and make sure "relative scale" is selected.
You can scale everything up by 2-3x and then scale it down again when you're finished

Well what I would recommend is build the detailed bits in a larger size, use fine tuner to rescale it to the desired size, then save it as a sub assembly to insert into your build.

I dont know I don't normally get that detailed
