I Found A Solution To Wing Flex

40.1k 50CalChicken  3.5 years ago

So.
you are building a really cool plane that either goes really fast or has enormous wings. You fly it and a dreadful thing known as wing flex happens. Wing flex can ruin good builds and create unnecessary trouble, well, the days of that are over.
it is a very simple solution.
You need to take a structural wing and XML it and change allowcontrolsurfaces to true, after that, you can have control surfaces that function with the same efficiency as normal control surfaces but with no wing flex.

@RenamedUser1964 yes, it is an old post for newer users, that is good for you.

@Aano78 learned a lot after quite some time in the community. I already know about changing the wing into a structural wing and that the wing shaking will destroy the craft.

Thx so much for this! Now my hypersonic plane acts realistically.

@50CalChicken You are actually able to do an instant reconnection by going into the attachments setting (this can be found via the turn commands, second from the top, looks like a plug going in an outlet) and using “Auto-Reconnect”. Hope this helps

@Aano78 yes, that is quite true, as structural wings don't flex, you are correct, it really just depends on how many connections are on your wing and which is easier

@RenamedUser1964 Wing Flex may destroy Engines if they are attached to the wing by hitting them against the fuselage. It may also shake your plane. P.S. Another way to stop wing flex is to change the wing to “Wing-2” with XML, and reattach the wing

@Neeguh it actually can break your wings if you aren't careful

What does wing flex do? Does it ruin the build cosmetically or does it cause some issues with the flying?

@50CalChicken I've come up with our surrender terms. they're deleting our current universe, I recomend you join MTec in the search of a new universe
