Simple planes would be much better if you could download and create custom maps that you can share, just like how you could share the airplanes but when you download them to the simple planes app you, it would show up right next to where the fine-tuner and overload mods were unless you enable the maps it shows up after you click build and fly a menu shows up with all the maps you download. Also, like how you can build airplanes on simple planes you should.be able to make and share custom maps.
the vision on ios is,
1) download a map (like how you download an airplane of the website) off of the
NEW Maps tab (like the one that says Airplanes in-between "Buy" and "Videos" except it will say maps and only show downloadable maps)
2) it brings you to a to the NEW maps menu (like the one where the overload and fine-tuner mods were) it says loading and downloading new map then you would be able to enable the downloaded map
3) click build and fly
4) a menu shows up (like the one in Minecraft), which has the original sandbox map and a button that says "create custom map" and a button that says "load downloaded map"
5a) when you click on "create custom map" it will then say enter map name, and will have an "enter" when you click the "enter" button it then brings you to a map building editor where it's all water but you can edit and create islands, mountains, buildings, ramps, Ai buildings, fleets, individual battleships, AI's, and much more by using a similar menu to the one in the airplane editor except instead of airplane parts its map building parts. you should also give a map building tutorial like how you made the airplane building tutorial. and when you are done in the editor, you can save and it will show up under the name you entered, right next to the original sandbox mode map, (the same menu while in list format) the custom map will have a button with three dots on it that when you click it, it says edit, share, and delete if you click "share" it will show the same thing as when you share aircraft but you will be sharing your map instead, and when you click "edit" it brings you back to the map editor so you can continue editing that map. (it should autosave when you exit the editor) when you click delete, it's self-explanatory it will say are you sure you want to delete this map and it will have a yes or no button to delete that map.

to play a map all you do is click on the map title and you will enter the map and it will give you the same options as if you were in sandbox mode.

5b) when you click the "load downloaded map" button, it will show the list of the downloaded maps that have been enabled when you click on the map you want it will show up in the same menu as the custom and original maps.

NOWhy you may be asking? Well all development on sp has been halted. Furthermore, ios modding is aganst apple TOS
(plus, the way the game is programmed doesnt allow a map editor to exist)
I mean, we could just put a mods store in the game, like the Minecraft store, but most maps need a high-end pc or even a console quality device, So unless SP comes to Console, I don't think we will see mods on iOS because the devices are just getting worse and worse with each update.
@ZapsonAirlines elytra allow flight yes, but is gliding + boosts, the type of flight isn't customisable its fixed, you can glide and use riptide or fireworks to fly, unlike planes in sp, you can hover, use propellers or jets, have truly stable flight with drag lift and thrust calculations determining how you fly, and you can drive, use missiles, tank cannons, guns, countermeasures etc etc.

essentially the idea is cool but unlikely to happen especially for mobile as mobile has larger storage and performance restrictions. not to mention a new infrastructure for the web and a variety of new functions in game.

minecraft is written in a different language and is optimized for building and combat, also it uses random generation and other methods to create optimised terrain. if you have a look at the 2b2t server history with elytra and fast flight, too much map and generation can kill (or nearly) servers with too much data.

whilst having a fixed map means you can have an insanely large/complex build going at any speed without killing the game.

They have a large chunk based system where flight is limited, the actual infrastructure is incredibly different. Minecraft is amazing as what it is but it’s not compatible with simple planes. As the planes is the thing which you build create and destroy@ZapsonAirlines

If you want this to happen, chances are it’ll be a windows mod. Not to mention new infrastructure on the website, but I like the idea

Ok ok ok, you may be asking quite a lot, for a start, you pay less you get less, then on the whole maps are kinda huge and that’s why mobile doesn’t have the kraken maywar etc. It’s incredibly taxing on the game on windows yet alone Mobile with some of these maps. Personally I think a map editor may be a more viable option as it would only edit aspects of pre existing terrain @SandSpores
