The SP Community has been if not one of the best communities that I have ever seen on the internet. People were always happy to upload their creations without worrying about anything. And I mean ANYTHING. However, upvotes had to be the biggest flaw on the community. As you may already known and saw from the last couple of days, there has been drama surrounding quality builds. This sparked drama as people were seeing low effort builds receiving more upvotes than high effort builds or builds that people tried hard to make them.
So here me out, this would've never happened if upvotes and player points were to never exist. I have seen it all, and felt it too, that the vast majority of the community want the points and upvotes. So what if we were to remove the upvote system and points. This would change and solve many of the community's problems. There will of course be less drama and fights surrounding upvotes over quality.
I know that the whole situation has passed but any developers and/or moderators see this, just take my suggestion.
Please remove the upvote and points system

There's always a vocal few that feels entitled to every attention, upvotes, and points. They are simply envious of the joke builds that brought everyone laughs and thus the attention. No need to pay these vocal few any heeds, just move on - this is the internet after all.
Without point no body will post anything bc points are there motivation for building and posting planes

I think there needs to be some sort of motivation on the site so that people keep uploading content and for people to keep playing and having something new to so in the game. Creating a bit of a competition to get something like points keeps people playing.

Then Simpleplanes won't be Simpleplanes. Most people need the points for motivation. Without the points, you wouldn't see the amazing planes you know of right now
@Stratus but this event is not going to be the only one. Surely there will be more if this same drama in the future unless the moderators are willing to do something to limit this nonsense.
Ok, no. They are not going to remove the entirety of the points system just because there was some drama involving one plane.
