“Failed to mirror part because part already exists on the other side of the craft”. I was able to do it before and it made building SO much easier, but now it won’t stop popping up and it’s god-awfully annoying.

You can also just disconnect the part you want to mirror and then reconnect it when you're done, usually.
Thanks! I repeatedly mirror the parts so I can move those new parts to their proper places and then mirror them to the other side @RamboJutter

If you move the conflicting part away from the build with something like multi edit you can the copy it over then nudge it back. It's better though that you dont have bits that overlap in the first place.
@Mysweetbologna Use the connection editor (top button in the rotate menu) to check if there are any parts connected to where you are trying to mirror to.
