For the last month, I’ve been working tirelessly on my final replica of SP 4449 in Simple Planes, and I’m glad to announce that it will be released within a week.

Some features of this build include realistic scaling, custom suspension, locked driving axles (wheels move at same speed), custom brakes on driving wheels, animated reversing gear, cab controls, an extremely bumpy ride, and the ability to drag a 5500-horsepower engine right along behind it.

It’s weight will also be matched within 500 pounds to the actual engine, and it will make a sound similar to the high pitched noise of a resting steam engine. It will also have an air horn and whistle, and complete with two tenders realistically coupled.

In addition, I will be posting videos of this build here on SimplePlanes, to show off what can be done with it. This will include starting and pulling 4,000 tons, as well as all cameras on the engine.

I’m really looking forward to releasing this for you guys, and I have a feeling you’ll love it. Thanks for reading!

At the moment no, I wanted the entirety of the custom wheels to be visible so for the moment it can only run on flat maps. I will release a version where it can go on the railway though. @RailfanEthan
