Introducing the Lorenz Beam navigation and Ju 288 interior [Teaser]

OK so another update about the Ju 288G-2 "Sonderausführung" Recoiless rifle attacker.

I've spent the last few days on the rear cockpit interior, adding a second yoke for the co pilot.

This is the design of the original Ju 288, with a 3-man cockpit.
However, since our version looks like this:

You can see that the gun would occupy the B-station's space, eliminating the position of the rear-lower gunner.
So in our Ju 288 G-2 there will only be A station (pilot) and C station (rear-higher gunner/ auxiliary pilot/ radio operator)

The gunner would usually operate the rear gun periscope:

However, he would also be able to switch to the secondary pilot station.
When the secondary yoke is lowered, the rear gun is disabled.

Also, he will be in charge of the Lorenz Beam blind-landing system.

Wikipedia page about Lorenz Beam
Lorenz Beam was an actual landing aid system developed before WWII, and used by the Luftwaffe. Here is how it works:

There are two stations broadcasting signals in an arc. the two stations are slightly left and right to the runway.
If a plane is off to the left, the operator will hear dots (short signal)
If the plane is off to the right, the operator will hear dashes (long signal)
If the plane is right to the center, the operator will hear continuous signal.

In Simple Planes it's difficult to use sound to navigate (a lot of rotaters are making lots of noises, and the winch is already used for stall warning), so I used lights instead.
The Left yellow light indicates deviation from the left station for < 5 degrees, and the right yellow light, the right station. The center red light indicates you are coming from the north of the runway, rather than the south.

I "hope" I can finish this within the next week.

T or upvote to be tagged in the next (hopefully the last) teaser.

The Lorenz Beam system is what we used in the U.S. through the 1950s, at least, until replaced in large part by NDBs, VORs and, eventually, the ILS. Great research and good idea, can’t wait to see the final result.
