I think the devs did this to save time and memory a perfect circle has infinite points to make that it would require a large amount of polygons it would make it hard to use
What I mean is if the thing is set to curved it's only visulal it only looks different if it's set to hard it shows where the collision box is you can't use one fuslage block for a working wheel@wheelmaker

The reason why is the hitbox is cubic like when the corners are set to hard or if you make it bigger

Very cool looking car and that looks a lot cooler than my car
Also super simple took less than a hour and has only 31 parts still flies great though
And yes you can fly to the "wright isles" with this plane
