you just ask somebody who makes good screenshots if he's okay about making some for you. I make a lot of screenshots for people, they just ask me gently on discord. Then we send you the screenshots and you can just use them as you want. Depending on the person a credit will be asked, but even if nobody ask for it it's always great to credit the one who did the job.
I had good hopes with this challenge, and when you said "Building with a limited resource of only 25 parts makes your part choice and decision-making better" I was thinking "yeah exactly it's a good exercise, people will be able to take they're time on fuselage shape and part efficiency".
But actually everybody just made a plane in mess than a day because they didn't get the point of the challenge, looked at most of them and there isn't more than one plane with a good shaped fuselage.
@SpaceJunkee008 no since it is the "center" of the lift that the plane create, and a plane does create lift with its wings,but also thanks to the vertical stabilisators. And since the vertical stabs are oftenly smaller, the center of lift is oftenly between the wings and the vertical stabs, but closer to the wings.
@SpaceJunkee008 COM is "center of mass" and COL "center of lift". If you press your spacebar in the designer (or activate with the menu of it if you are on mobile), this will make three "balls" show up, a red one (COM), a blue one (COL) and a yellow one (COT, center of thrust). So now that you know all this, the only thing you have to know to make literally everything fly in Simpleplanes, is that your COM must ALWAYS be in front of the COL
SimplePlanes in my top 1, this game is just wonderful. I also enjoyed playing Raising Storm Vietnam II, Spore, Besiege and a lot of other games. There isn't so many games that I like, but the one I play I can stay hours on it.
make an AI version of the plane which you want to take a screenshot with. In this AI version, remove all weapons, or disable them if you want to see them (like put an ActivationGroup on it, AI can't use them). Then reduce the engine power of it just a bit, so if YOU reduce throttle, it will be able to follow you, but at the very moment or it will go past you and turn, just accelerate a little and it won't be able to go faster than you. Then just spawn it as agressive of course. With all this you can fly in formation for hours.
@Rodrigo110 For me it's more than a aircraft game, you can just build whatever you want, car, boat, plane, spaceship, tank, ballon, pigeon or dragons, that's what I call the ultimate sandbox. of course, skill is needed, otherways, where would be the fun.

I'm pretty sure SP won't die, I mean FlyOut looks really great and cool but I honestly think that we won't find in FlyOut this thingy thingy we found in SimplePlanes, this weaird feeling of a game that actually doesn't want to help you. I mean, when FlyOut will be out, I'm sure it will be very easy to make realistic looking planes, it's already the case for the few good players on it. But what's the point of making it too easy ? What's the point of building if you're not doing it because it's challenging ? I like SP a lot, and of course this game still needs a lot of updates to get the job done. But I really hope that it will stay like it is, with complexe FT, weird ass shapes to make in 20hours, unrealisitc flight models that you can make good, all those shitty builds on the website and all the awesome ones. SimplePlanes in I think the ultimate sandboxe game in term of pure building.
@11qazxc it's more about the fact that the game doesn't like label text displaying too many pixels, that's what is causing the lag.
I was just saying that making this kind of thing is lighter with fuselage blocks even if it doesn't seem to and that it is more difficult.
But this application is still impressive.

Well I'm sure that the AI is good at flying it but it's impossible to dogfight it since it takes like 25Gs and accelerates to mach 2 in three seconds and doesn't loose any energy.
Right now with weekly and almost dayly work I'm around 7 mount for my last build, which isn't finished yet.
@Felldownstairsman that's your problem, I'm pretty sure that there is other ways to ask and share screenshots but discord is just too useful
