@Cobrahuey Can’t wait! Try to copy the basic shape of the underside of your dad’s cart so we have room for everything. Good luck!

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 3.9 years ago

@Cobrahuey Absolutely! Tag me on an unlisted post when you finish the body.

Do what you enjoy. The only standard should be fun.

Highest quality as usual my friend! The suspension is reliable and makes for a good romp. Your building style is always very appealing. Top notch, top to bottom. Also works smoothly on my phone.

@Mod Enough said :) much appreciated.

@TheWeaver Yes! Another of my favorite builders of SP history! I’m glad you were around to see this one. It’s lightyears beyond my other stuff. I’m thinking of returning to space for my next project. It would make my year to see another weaver design come down the line..

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Sinacraft I understand thrash metal has been the subject of some controversy in your part of the world. I would like to hear your perspective my friend.

@MoterKade Many thanks my friend! I was hoping you would be around to see this. I told myself throughout the build process that it had to be MK level quality lol. Here’s hoping you have a project in the garage for us yourself.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Jauntyccmbr Thank you! It is a bit part heavy for my taste but I’ve never been able to reach this level of detail due to device and content limitations so I had to bask in the glory for this round. Glad you like it!

If anyone is interested in the funk, @SnoWFLakEOs has provided us with a comprehensive guide on the topic.
I used his alternator rotator code for the exhaust cap and although I cannot locate the origins, I believe the reverse lights and engine input were first conjured by @BogdanX n friends.
I put everything else together myself based on the FT guide, including several functions not included in this design. I’d be glad to field any questions but these users are more simpleplanes savvy than myself and considerably more active.
EDIT New versions of BogdanX’s inputs can be found HERE

Nice work! Most people accidentally seize up part of the suspension when tinkering. Quality successor here.

@Jauntyccmbr I build on the latest generation iPad Pro. I can drive this bucket of 1600 parts all day without lag

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Maximum777 Thank you. I’ve owned several full size modified vehicles, helped work on many others and I own a handful of rc scale rock crawlers. I’ve been an enthusiast of off-road engineering for almost two decades. I will likely build something a little nastier next but it will be from the ground up.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii Thanks James! This is my first build using overload. What a game changer! I’d Like to put out a couple more builds this year if work doesn’t consume my life as usual.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Drended123 They don’t look like normal rotators. Look for the small silver coin-like pieces inside the steering knuckles at the ends of the axles. They're connected directly to the rotators. Two for each wheel.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

Thanks @Johnnyynf No, unfortunately it isn’t. Impossible with the amount of gizmo parts needed to properly replicate the suspension. Rotators, among other parts, require extra mass, especially when scaled down, to function reliably. All other aspects of this vehicle are designed to compensate though. It makes no difference in driving. Just don’t count on hoisting it with your heli.

@Mumpsy Thats awesome! I have a couple axial scx10II 1/10 scale rock crawlers I built myself. I use them for technical reference along with my full size modified Jeep Cherokee.
I posted a 600 part model if you prefer. Link is in the description. Thanks for the spotlight btw!

    @SledDriver Much appreciation my friend.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@TheHandBurgler lol. Do you now poses the strength of two teenagers?

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Sm10684 Thanks a million! I know, as would I. Such applications are far from unheard of though with the proper gear ratios. The 6 looks a bit different and the SP car engine passes most easily as a 4 or 8 cylinder . You can call it a 6 if you like though, since it really has no cylinders.

@Shippy456 That is unfortunate news.. All the shocks connect to the center piece at the top of their hoop. What physics settings are you using? I run all my settings on high.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Sadboye12 oh I see. Yes... yes it did. I also only get little bits of build time in over months because life lol. I’ve also never used overload or funky trees so it was a long study as well. Thank you for recognizing the effort I put in here.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@Sadboye12 RiP phone users. This version is for my own building enjoyment. I posted a 600 part model if you need it. The link is at the top of the description.

Thanks @Mumpsy Ive had this held up in the testing phase for a couple months now. The aim was a realistic suspension and driving experience out of the gate but with SP terrain conquering capability on command. Something for everybody. It’s based on 5th generation Hilux models, yes.

  • Transcendental Thrash Metal 4.0 years ago

@BuiltBionixInd10 Thanks! Long darn time in the making.

Drum kit 16 years. Guitar/vocals now mostly, 6 years practicing seriously. I play everything from roots americana to black metal and even electronic music. All genre (though NOT all artists) have their own way of empowering the human soul. If you don’t believe that, you’re not listening close enough.

  • Ford Bronco ‘69 4.1 years ago

I have a fair amount of experience with 4x4 suspension irl. Feel free to drop me a line if you have questions or want to chat.

  • Ford Bronco ‘69 4.1 years ago

Well built and presented. A friend of mine drove one of these in school. You could use some additional linkage or even a track bar though. The axles shift side to side on uneven terrain. Use chase view off the corner of the rear bumper and observe the wheels in relation to each other and the body.

@SupremeDorian You absolutely should! I usually take a lot of time with my designs and this one came together faster than most for me.

  • Sith fighter (variable-geometry!) 4.2 years ago

@SupremeDorian Thanks man! Yeah KOTOR likely predates most of the builders here. I’m hoping to post a new sith fighter when I get back from the outer rim.
Good to see another keeper of the peace patrolling the core systems my friend. Maybe I’ll make my way over to SR2 sometime.

  • Advanced X1 4.2 years ago

@ThePilotDude Sure. Those weren’t chanceys words though. I support constructive criticism. But you don’t tell someone they built a brick without intending to insult them. Go fly every TIE on the first few pages of the Star Wars tag list (many of which bear chanceys stamp of approval). It’s flight characteristics are comparable. Only reallouchen9999 makes an obvious superior.

  • Toby Honk's Pro Skater 3 4.2 years ago

If I didn’t see that with my own crossed eyes, I wouldn’t believe it...

  • Advanced X1 4.2 years ago

@Chancey21 You know we can’t fire the ion engines in the inner atmosphere!
Seriously though I hate to get snarky with someone who already dropped a much appreciated spot n vote... But on a scale of “brick” to movie prop, you sounded like a frankfurter.

  • Advanced X1 4.2 years ago

@Chancey21 The performance of this vehicle hardly warrants the condescension of your comment. You’re doing something wrong or you’re just feeling like a tiny person today. Stop discouraging people from enjoying this for themselves.
